   AteroDx Activity®

AteroDX Activity® is Aterovax’s first product. It determines sPLA2 activity using a rapid, robust fluorimetric microplate enzyme activity assay; its extremely robust analytical method has been validated in more than 25,000 human samples, and numerous studies have established its clinical relevance on more than 9,000 patients. It is now CE-marked and sales have started in the research and development market.

Detecting sPLA2 activity in complex biological samples, such as serum and plasma, is a challenging task because of non-specific interactions of the tested biological samples and phospholipids substrate. Thanks to the expertise on both sPLA2 and in vitro diagnostics of both its team and partners, ATEROVAX developed and industrialized in a short time an innovative, very robust and highly sensitive sPLA2 activity assay.

To increase sensitivity by having access to the very first points of the kinetic, the reaction is initially blocked and then activated by the rapid injection of calcium. Since AteroDx Activity® is a semi-automated fluorometric assay, it requires a compatible fluorimeter.
